Spring Beauty Haul + Review

Last week I decided to treat myself to a spring beauty haul and I want to share my thoughts on a few products I bought in hopes that it might help you decide on which products to buy. So here they are: The good. The bad. And everything in between!

Tarte Park Ave Princess Contour Palette - $34.00

What it is: A 3-in-1 contouring palette that includes:
• Amazonian clay matte waterproof bronzer in park ave princess™
• Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in posh (pale pink)
• Amazonian clay highlighter in champagne gold

Pros: The bronzer and blush are matte and the highlighter adds a nice glimmering glow. Holds up well and lasts long.

Cons: The palette is very subtle and probably works best for fair to medium skin. I felt like I had to really build up to see a difference. I would recommend it If you’re new to contouring or like a very natural finish, if not skip it.

Where to buy: Sephora

Benefit The POREfessional - $31

What it is: A face primer that minimizes the appearance of pores

Pros: Super silky smooth! Oil-free and translucent. Works well to minimize pores and slight imperfections. I’ve been using it under my liquid foundation and so far it works great.

Cons: Pricey for the size, (.75 fl oz) I’ve been using just a dab so I don’t run out!

Where to buy: Sephora

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Makeup – $37

What it is: A long-lasting foundation that stays looking fresh and natural for up to 15 hours.

Pros: My new favorite foundation! Has great coverage and staying power. I would say it’s best for those looking for medium to full coverage.

Cons: Their range of colors is both a blessing and a curse. I went to get color-matched and I still don’t feel like I got my “exact shade”. I’m happy with my purchase (3W1 Tawny), but think I’m going to try a slightly different shade next time.

Where to buy: Sephora

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil - $23

What it is: A 12-hour wear eye pencil sets in seconds.

Pros: Amazing! Lasts for hours and hardly ever need touch ups. Very rich color that goes on smooth. Has a smudger if you want a softer line.

Cons: It’s not exactly bullet-proof, so it did smear on me from time to time. BUT it’s not like most eyeliners on the market - it DOES have staying power! (I even took a nap with it on and woke up with my eyeliner nearly intact!)

Where to buy: Sephora

Benefit Fake Up Concealer - $24.

What it is: A hydrating cover-up concealer.

Pros: It’s definitely hydrating and easy to use. The concealer is surrounded by a layer of vitamin E and apple seed which makes the product go on smooth.

Cons: Ok coverage. A little too sheer for me. If you’re looking for a full coverage concealer this is NOT it. I also found that it creased on my dry skin. May work better on oily to normal skin.

Where to buy: Sephora

Dior Rouge Baume in Primerose - $35.00

What it is: A nourishing lip balm with couture color

Pros: Hydrating and pretty. Great for those who like balms rather than lipsticks. Primerose is a subtle pink but not too subtle that you won’t notice it.

Cons: It’s a balm so it doesn’t last as long a traditional lip products, and I wasn’t fond of the scent or taste either. It also claims to have a “plumping” effect but I didn’t notice a difference.

Where to buy: Sephora

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade in Soft Brown- $18

What it is: A smudge-free, waterproof pomade formula that performs as an all-in-one brow product

Pros: Super creamy and pigmented. Works great for sculpting and shading. Lasts ALL-DAY. My new favorite brow product!

Cons: A little goes far! Don’t overdo it otherwise your brows will look very harsh and unnatural.

Where to buy: Sephora

Orly Color Blast Fluorescent Fuchsia Neon -$8

What it is: Neon nail polish

Pros: I’m in love with this color!! Great for summer. Adds a fun pop of color.

Cons: Not long lasting. Use top coat to extend life.

Where to buy: Kohl’s (in-store)
