Today is a special day. It’s opening day for the Yankees!!! It’s practically a holiday for my family. We take our baseball very seriously here, in case you haven’t noticed. We’re not just fans, we’re fanatics! It didn’t start out that way though. Growing up I didn’t watch much baseball – even with 3 older brothers. But when I started dating Jason 11 years ago, I was introduced to Yankee nation and I haven't looked back since.
Growing up in the Bronx, the Yankees were an institution to him. And seeing his love of the game made me want to learn and see more. Now, I can say I’m a bona fide Yankee fan too. Even our daughter has become a hard-core fan. But you need to keep your eye on that one. She’s the type to go ham on you at a game!! LOL!
I love how baseball just brings us all together as a family. So how great is it that I teamed up with Fanatics.com, the largest retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise to style an outfit?! Fanatics offers hundreds of thousands of officially licensed items for all major professional sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, PGA), major media brands and over 200 collegiate and professional team properties which leaves us with LOTS of options to choose from. Not to mention they have super quick delivery. (My selections were shipped out the very same day!)
Even though I love my Yankees, I like to keep things simple when I go to a game. A hat is my go-to choice but I keep things “in-theme” by wearing stripes and shades of blue. This '47 Brand Cooperstown Collection hat is perfect because I can also casually wear with just about anything. (See another look here.)The soft blue makes it stylish and versatile for every day.
I also styled another outfit that would work as a cute option for sportswear using the Opening Night Pinstripe Tank Top and the New Era Step Out 9FIFTY hat.
Finally, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to also show you what Arianna wore to school today! My baby went all decked out in her Yankee gear too! (Find her t-shirt here)
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
