2015 Academy Awards: The Best Dressed List

Last night, something magical happened. Not only did the stars come out to shine, but my husband actually sat down and watched the 2015 Oscars with me! Whaaat?? Well, technically he DVR’d the show so we could skip all the boring stuff, but still. It’s the thought that counts, right?

After watching a solid 4 hours of the award show, 2 things became abundantly clear: 1) John Travolta is getting creepier and creepier by the minute and 2) The ladies really stole the show! There were so many great red carpet moments, but only a few ladies surpassed my expectations and completely nailed their looks. Oscar or no Oscar, here are my real winners of the night:

Lupita Nyong’o and Reese Witherspoon

I had a love/hate relationship with Lupita’s gown. While I’m not a fan of the silhouette from a far, up close this dress is too stunning not to be praised. Her custom Calvin Klein Collection gown was adorned with 6,000 pearls (!!!) making it truly one-of-a-kind.

You can always count on Reese for a clean, classic, old Hollywood look. She did not disappoint in her gorgeous structured, off-the-shoulder white and black Tom Ford gown. Honestly, perfection.

Jamie Chung and Jennifer Lopez

Jamie went a little under the radar on the red carpet, but I caught a glimpse of her and this embellished Yanina Couture gown and thought it was stunning. I would have liked the bottom half more without the fireworks motif, but that’s just nit-picking.

What’s better than a princess gown on the red carpet? Jennifer Lopez in a princess gown on the red carpet!! I mean, she still kept it very JLO with a sexy plunging neckline, but I do like that she switched it up and went very soft and feminine in this Elie Saab dress.

Zoe Saldana and Rosamund Pike

I must say, motherhood looks damn good on Zoe Saldana! I don’t think she’s looked better. This blush-colored Versace gown is hitting her curves in all the right places. Love it!

Finally, Rosamund Pike wins my best look of the night. I absolutely LOOVED this look. I must say I felt underwhelmed by her choices all award-season long, but she totally made up for it in the custom rose body-con number by Givenchy. She looks aamazing! I loved the hair, makeup, and everything. A++ in my book.
