Fabkids Birthday Style

On Saturday Arianna celebrated her 9th birthday. I can’t even deal! Time is flying by way too quickly and I’m starting to get anxiety as she enters her pre-teen years. This year was a big turning point for us because instead of toys she was asking for big girl things, like a phone. Eek!

Now, I know what you’re thinking - no-way, no-how. And to be honest that was my initial reaction too. But after giving it some thought, and going back and forth with my husband we decided that giving her a phone might not be so bad after all. We thought it might teach her some responsibility and also a good way to keep in contact with her relatives who are out of state. It’s purely talk and text so we don’t have to worry about her going on the web for now. And when the time comes there’s plenty of parent apps to keep her safe. Who knows, the texting might even help her with spelling. That’s how we justified it anyway. Time will tell if we made the right choice, but for now we have one happy phone user.

As for celebrating her big day, we decided to keep it just family because her BIG birthday party with friends is in 2 weeks. Which means I have so much to do it’s not even funny! At least picking out her birthday outfit was a cinch because her new FabKids dress arrived the day before and she couldn’t WAIT to wear it! (Actually, she would have slept in her Teal Traveler Outfit if I would’ve let her – that’s how much she loved it.) She loved the color and print, and even asked me if it was tribal. (Look at her, being all fashionee!) I swear, month after month the Fabkids outfits are getting better and better, don’t they? If you haven’t checked them out yet, you need to – ASAP.

  1. Happy Birthday Arianna she is such a cutie pie! Love her outfit. In this era I think a cell phone is a must even at her age.

  2. She is so beautiful! In a way I can understand why she would want a are into technology much sooner now a days and I don't necessarily think it is such a bad thing. Times are changing!
