NOVICA: A Passage to the World Market (Reveiw)

What do you get when you mix extraordinary artisans from around the world, and a free platform to express their artistic talents? Answer: NOVICA!

NOVICA is one of the leading fair trade artisan websites. They work with National Geographic to give talented artisans around the world a place to express their artistic talents and provide access to the world market. They have thousands of top fair trade corporate gifts, accessories, jewelry, and home decor items on their website.

A few days ago I was given the opportunity to browse their online marketplace, and was blown away by some of the handcrafted items they have available. I was particularly drawn to the works of an Indian artist named Seema. Her attention to detail, as well as her use of color and culture instantly made me a fan! I became even fonder of her work after receiving the Teal Bouquet cushion covers and Grey Dove throw blanket I ordered from the website. The embroidery was impeccable, and fabric and texture were even better than I had imagined! They both worked perfectly on our sofa. Take a look!

I can’t say enough good things about NOVICA. I feel what they’re doing for artisans like Seema, who normally don’t have the means to sell their work in the international market is truly remarkable. They are preserving their crafts, and celebrating their traditions by giving us the opportunity to buy directly from the artist instead of big-box stores or other retail establishments.

Spread the love today by checking out the following items and helping out a fellow artist.

Brown Belts
Indian Cashmere Wool Shawls
Long Skirt
Batik Sarong
Women's Clothing from Peru
Black Tops
