Kid-Friendly Junk Food Swaps

To say that my daughter likes her snacks is an understatement. She lives for cookies, cakes, candies, and basically anything that would make a dentist cringe. All kids love junk food really, but as parents we must moderate how many sweets they should consume. I recently had a fun conversation with Arianna about her favorite indulgences, and she informed me that if she could, she would have cookies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! While I understand her fondness for the confectionary sweets, there is no way I’m going to let her become a modern-day cookie monster! Instead, I feel I should replace her chosen junk food with healthier snack alternatives that are just as yummy and appetizing for her. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:

Of course fresh fruits, vegetables, and nuts are always great options for when hunger strikes, but I like to also give her ready-to-go items too, so she doesn’t feel deprived. I’ve mentioned before that Mott’s® Snack & Go is a family favorite because it comes in a variety of yummy flavors like Mixed Berry, Granny Smith, and Mango Peach - which is my absolute favorite! (I highly recommend you try it even if you don’t like applesauce, it’s so, so good!!) Just in case you want to give it a try, I’m including a buy one get one free coupon you can print here.

What are some of your favorite junk food swaps?

Mott’s® Snack & Go is the nutritious applesauce kids love in a squeezable pouch they can take with them wherever they go. Mott’s is also the only applesauce brand with Box Tops for Education®, helping to support kids’ schools. Click here to download a buy one get one free Mott’s® Snack & Go coupon.
