Moms: How To Get Some Sleep On The Weekends

Sleep deprivation is an inevitable part of being of a mom. Unfortunately, it just comes with the territory. It doesn’t matter how old your kids get, with so many things to do and so little time to do it in - sleep just doesn’t come easy to moms.

Even though studies suggest we should be getting at least 8 hours of sleep a day, the reality is we think of resting as time wasted, or time we could be doing something else. Like they say - a mother’s work is never done, so we ignore the biological necessity of sleep to finish sewing costumes, or catch up on some bills, instead of catching up on some ZZZ's.

Typical sleep advice will have you adjust your sleep environment, or take a warm bubble bath before bed, but really – what are the chances of THAT happening? That’s why I loved this Great Starts tip from Kellogg’s! It’s easy and practical - perfect for busy moms. They suggest teaching your children a little independence on the weekends, so you can enjoy some extra time in the mornings! Check out the video for a creative way to get your kids to prepare their own breakfast.
