Choosing a Staycation: What Should You Pick? (Guest Post)

While you may be dreaming of a week or two in the sun, perched on a sun lounger somewhere overlooking the Med, it’s not always financially viable to do so. With more and more families having to tighten their purse strings because of rising costs, a holiday abroad is out of the question for many. That doesn’t mean that the chance of a break isn’t possible though, with plenty of staycations proving to be increasingly popular.

What you choose to book for your staycation depends largely on what you want to achieve from your holiday away from home, but these inspiring ideas are popular considerations for your last minute summer jaunt.

Holiday Parks

Purpose built holiday parks such as Butlins Bognor Regis are making a bit of a comeback of late, with more and more people attracted to their affordable packages which include everything you could possible need for a fun-filled break. Perfect for families, Butlins provides plenty of day and evening entertainment, while the Splash Waterworld complexes are awesome for the water babies in your group.

Plus, if you head online to enter the Cushelle competition, you could win a break which would save you even more cash!

Camping

Fancy getting a little closer to nature? With camping, you can. Campsites all over the UK offer fabulous value holidays; just pack your tent and any creature comforts you may want (airbed, anyone?) and spend some time appreciating the outdoors. What campsite you choose depends on what you want to achieve from your stint outdoors – some are equipped with plenty of luxury facilities while others provide the bare necessities – i.e. a field!

City Breaks

Last minute deals in the city can often be found on the net and with so many cities across the UK to appreciate; you will be spoilt for choice. Perhaps a weekend in Edinburgh to coincide with the Fringe Festival is in order? Or perhaps a family trip to London for the LolliBop Festival, dedicated to the young ones?

It’s not too late to book your summer staycation – take a look online and book something to look forward to!
