OOTD: Basics In The City.

Happy Monday lovelies! This weekend was a lot of fun even though it was a rainy/snowy mess. We ended up meeting the family in the city then going for an early dinner at Don Coqui, a Puerto Rican restaurant in Queens. We had tried the one in New Rochelle before - which has more of an upscale loft vibe, where as the one in Astoria has more of a nightclub lounge feeling. However, both have excellent food - so if you're ever craving Latin cuisine, you know where to go.

Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to get ready so I ended up grabbing some basics and just throwing them on together and actually ended up liking the results. It's always nice when an outfit just comes together naturally and you really don't have to think about it.

After some great food and plenty of belly laughs at Don Coqui, we headed back into Manhattan to Cafe Lalo for some coffee and dessert. You might recognize this restaurant from the movie You've Got Mail. It's a really cute and quaint cafe - but best of all serves excellent desserts with over 100 cakes, pies, tarts - you name it. Not the best service I must warn, but the experience was still enjoyable and you better believe I'll be back for some more apple crumb cheesecake!

  1. I'm half Cuban and the one thing I miss living in Nashville is Cuban food so I am envious of you right now! I love, love, that leopard print - it looks amazing on you!

    1. Thank you!! I love Cuban food! I'm Honduran and my husband is Puerto Rican so there no shortage of Spanish food for us. LOL

  2. What a gorgeous pairing of hot pink and leopard! Looks like you matched the decor of the restaurant perfectly!!! ~Sarah

    1. Thank you! I hadn't noticed, but you're right! LOL

Thanks for leaving me a comment! I always make time to read each and every one. ♥
