Rockin' Ever After. {#DisneyOnIce}

For the last few years we've made it a family tradition to go see a Disney On Ice. (You can read more about it here and here). It's a great family-friendly event and as luck would have it, the show would always fall close to Arianna's birthday. But now that we're in New York, it seems like we will get to experience the celebration closer to the holidays.

This years theme was Rockin' Ever After which featured Merida from Brave in her ice skating debut! My 7 yr old is a huuuuge fan of the movie so she was pumped to see her perform. But she was a little let down that a bear costume never made it into the skate sequence. (If you've seen the movie you know that her mother turning into a bear is a big part of the movie. In fact, I was surprised too.)

Other than that, we really enjoyed the show. My favorite performance of the night was The Little Mermaid number. I mean,  Mermaids voguing. Starfish Dancing. Caribbean music blaring. Oh yea baby - that's my kinda party!

Here a few pics from that night.

In my opinion it's worth the money, but if you're on the fence on whether or not to take your kids you should take some of these factors into consideration:

Might appeal more to girls than boys. (However, there are shows that have Toy Story, Mickey, and Peter Pan. Just do your research and find out more about each show here.)

Get ready to spend a small fortune inside. They are hundreds of booths inside with souvenirs and toys and of course your kids will want everything, but aside from that expect the food and snacks to be way over-priced - it is a Disney event after all. (Ex: We bought hotdogs and 2 drinks for $40 and bucket of popcorn for $20.)

It's still a great family event and I would highly recommend you give it a shot, if you've never been. We're already planning on going to see the next show, Treasure Trove early next year! Can't wait!

{Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way for this post, nor provided tickets for the show. All opinions are my own.}
