The Perfect At-Home Pedicure.

It's sandal season ladies! Time to air out those toes and pamper our much neglected feet with this DIY pedicure you can do at home courtesy of Marie Claire.

Tools You’ll Need:
• Epsom Salt
• Pumice Stone or foot scrub
• Towel
• Moisturizer
• Nail File
• Buffer Block
• Nail Clippers
• Cuticle Oil
• Base and top coat
• Your favorite polish

Step 1: Soak your feet in an Epsom salt-infused bath of warm water for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Using a pumice stone or foot scrub, exfoliate in a circular motion, paying special attention to heels and the bottoms of your feet and rinse well; pat dry with a towel.

Step 3: Apply moisturizer and cuticle cream. For added relief, massage the arches of your feet by working your thumbs in with firm pressure, then gently push cuticles back with an orange stick.

Step 4: Clip and file each toenail into a square-oval shape; buff the tops of each nail to ensure a smooth surface for the polish.

Step 5: Swipe a pure acetone-soaked cotton swab over each toenail to remove excess oil and moisture.

Step 6: Apply a thin coat of clear base polish and let dry.

Step 7: Apply 2 coats of colored lacquer, waiting 2 minutes in between each coat.

Step 8: Finish with a top coat and let dry for at least an hour before wearing you favorite sandals.

  1. So glad you posted these instructions! I was just glancing over my stomach toward my feet this morning and thinking I need a pedi, but I can't stand the thought of shelling out big bucks for one. (Not to mention, the lady who does mine talks nonstop, and very rapidly, so it's anything BUT a pampering experience.) Pinning this!

  2. Glad you enjoyed it and hopefully you can get some use out of it too! :)

Thanks for leaving me a comment! I always make time to read each and every one. ♥
