Celeb Looks: Yay or Nay? {Halloween Edition}

Today is officially Halloween, but most have been celebrating the festivities all weekend long thanks to fun costume parties and events! Our favorite celebs also got in on the action and dressed up for the occasion. Some donned amazing costumes, while others not so much. You decide...

Gwen Stefani looked pretty as a princess dressed-up as Cinderella to Kate Hudson's famous Halloween Bash. The singer left her usual rocker chic vibe and traded it in for a fairy-tale dress with a tiara and all!

My Verdict: Yay.

Also attending Kate Hudson's Halloween party was Jessica Alba dressed up as a Witch. Her costume included a black and purple netted hat and corset. Not the most original or best looking costume in my opinion.

My Verdict: Nay.

Nicole Richie dressed-up as old school J.LO in a velour tack suit, hoop earrings, and aviators. She actually pulls off JLO remarkably well, don't you think?

My Verdict: Yay.

Bethenny Frankel let her inner child reign with a Hello Kitty get-up in Las Vegas. I love Bethenny AND Hello Kitty, but the costume comes off as a little tacky.

My Verdict: Nay

Michael Kors did a hilarious impersonation of a Marachi band member in New York.  The make-up so good you can hardly recognize him!

My Verdict: Yay

Kim Kardashian is always one to dress up in a sexy costume, and this year is no different. I must admit she makes a gorgeous Poison Ivy though.

My Verdict: Yay.

Heidi Klum always goes ALL OUT for her costumes, but this year she might have out-done herself! For her Las Vegas party, she was dressed as an anatomically correct body. (Which kinda freaks me out a little bit..but isn't that what Halloween is all about?)

My Verdict: Yay

Which costume did you love or hate?

Nicky Hilton's Fall Plaid Look. (Get The Look & The Look For Less!)

Plaid has come a long way in fashion. Leaving it's association with lumberjacks and grungy college kids, it's now a stylish fashion trend that's here to stay. And no one shows just how chic lumberjack plaid can look other than Nicky Hilton in this Torn jacket.

She completed her look with some black basics, but it's really her killer jacket that makes her outfit stand-out. If you love how the plaid jacket looks but want a more affordable version, Hive & Honey has a great option for just $52 bucks!

What do you think? Are you a fan of the plaid trend?

Tea Collection Takes Us To Mexico!

Get your maracas ready kids! Tea Collection is bringing the fiesta this fall with their Mexican inspired children's clothing. These fun and flavorful pieces are made up of several festive collections like Casa Oaxaca, Mercado Mexicano, Highland Holiday, and Jardin Azul.

The girls collections feature an explosion of flowers and colors inspired by non other than Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

The boys collections feature bold Aztec art and amusing little Lucha Libre shirts that both wickedly awesome and delightful.

True to Tea Collections style, their entire collection consists of stylish basics with an added touch of culture and spice. I love it!  I don't know about you, but I'm feeling ready for a little south of border fun!

Shoe Fetish Of The Week: America's Sexiest Shoe of 2011.

Can there really be a title of Sexiest Shoe?  Well apparently so, because Footwear News and Saks Fifth Avenue conducted an online survey to find the sexiest shoe of 2011 and 35,000 voters crowned these Valentino Lace Peep-Toe Pumps the winner--beating out the likes of Jimmy Choo, Prada, and 25 others.

So what do you think, do you agree?  There's no doubt that the simple lady-like silhouette is nice, but sexiest shoe?  Hmm, I would have to disagree. I mean I love a lace shoe and all, but I actually think these $130 Jeffery Campbell Lace Pumps are way sexier than the Valentino's. Just my opinion.

What do you think, did they get it right?

Fall Favorites: For Girls

Having a girl,I know how easy it is to get carried away shopping for them. I actually enjoy shopping for my daughter more than I do myself and I'm sure other moms feel the same way.

There's something about shopping for miniature clothing that makes the whole process just that much more pleasurable. Then to see your little ones rocking out the latest fashions, well that's just the icing on the cake.  :)

Here are some of my favorite fall picks for girls.

J.Crew's Candy Colored Coats Will Brighten Up Your Winter.

If the thought of  wearing a drab colored coat all winter long has you feeling down, perhaps J.Crew's Majesty Peacoat might cheer you up! With colors like Maraschino Cherry, Warm Lemon, and Fiesta Purple, this stylish coat puts the fun in functionality.

I might be wrong but I think JCrew just came up with the perfect Rx to beat winter blues! What do you think?

Better Than Roses.

My husband is on a roll.

He recently left town for work so I used this opportunity to take my daughter to spend some quality time with my mother before our big move up north, so we've been staying with her. Last week, he completely caught me off guard by sending me a beautiful bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries out of the blue with a note attached that said "Just Because I Love You." (I know. Swoon.)

Well this weekend I received a package that literally made my heart melt. ♥

Although I love my mother dearly, her computer had me on a brink of losing my mind and I was one twitch away from taking a hockey stick to it. I distinctly remember asking her before I left if her computer works or if I should take mine. Her answer was "yes of course it works!"

Well, what she should of said is Yes. I have a machine that resembles a computer but it's a piece of junk and it's on it's deathbed, and this weekend that's just what it did. It died.

Of course this whole time I've been whining like a 5yr old to my husband so unbeknownst to me he had ordered me a new laptop and had it shipped my way already!! (Double Swoon.) The timing couldn't have been more perfect and I couldn't be happier with my new little bundle of joy.

I got me a good egg, ladies. I'll take a laptop over roses ANY DAY. Thanks hunny!  :)

Fall Favorites: For Him.

For men it's all about having street style. Although women might pain themselves for a fabulous pair of shoes, men are more practical and seek comfort over style. The good news is that they're plenty of options for men who like a happy medium and choose style and comfort.

Who says women are the only ones who get excited about fall fashion? Men can have just as much fun updating their wardrobes with these killer finds.

Kelly Cutrone Takes Andre Leon Talley's Seat On ANTM.

Just when I was set to delete America's Next Top Model from my DVR I heard some news that made my ears perk up: Kelly Cutrone, the PR guru and ultimate bad-ass herself will be joining the next season of America's Next Top Model! And not only will she be joining, but she will be replacing Andre Leon Talley as judge.

Quite frankly I'm happy to see Andre and his dreck-itude go. I never liked him to begin with and his eccentricities just deepened my disesteem (I don't care how fabulous his credentials are.)

No word on whether there was drama between Tyra and Andre, but let's be real--this is Tyra we're talking about and let's not forget how many judges she has lost due to her divaness charm.

But back to the good news though, Kelly and her tell-it-like-it-is attitude is sure to make for some good entertainment next season. I can only imagine what her sharp tongue will do to these young impressionable girls, but one thing she'll tell them for certain is--"If you have to cry, go outside."

What do you think of Kelly Cutrone as a new judge? Are you a fan?

Tokidoki Tattoo Barbie. {Yay or Nay?}

Who knew that our child's iconic Barbie would someday be tatted up? It seems like the perfectly prissy doll has finally hit a rebellious streak with Mattel's collaboration with the Italian label Tokidoki.

Tokidoki® Barbie® doll is always ready for cutting-edge fashion! She pops on a pink miniskirt, logo leggings and black top with signature skull heart and bones, carries a large bag from the brand, then adds bracelets, a belt, and sky-high sparkly silvery shoes! This funky fashionista features trendy tattoos and a pink bob. With cactus friend, Bastardino, by her side, she’s ready for fun in fashion-forward form!

Even though the Tokidoki Barbie is made for adult doll collectors, I can see why some parents might be outraged that a child's doll--especially Barbie, who has been an American icon for the last 50 years has tattoos, but honestly there are a lot of parents with tattoos out there. So who cares?

Their might actually be moms out there sporting pink hair and tattoos like this, and wouldn't it be nice that their children finally have a doll that looks like "mommy" much like a "Doctor Barbie" for a daughter whose mom is a doctor?

Honestly, this Barbie might be a great way to teach our children about social acceptance. Just because someone doesn't look like you or have a similar lifestyle does not make them a bad person or a bad example. So what if Barbie is now rocking pink hair and some serious ink? If you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm more concerned about her mixing leopard tights and a pink leather mini.

Fall Favorites: For Her.

I know. I know. You guys are probably sick of hearing me talking about my love of Fall, but I really can't help it!! I love everything about it. From the cooler weather--to the foliage--to the pumpkin patches and the candy apples. I ♥ it all. But then of course comes the real reason all fashionistas love the fall--the fierce fashion. (Woot! Woot!)

I've gathered up some of my favorite fall picks for you to enjoy (and I also discovered that I tend to stick entirely too much on neutrals because it turns out most of my picks are black, brown, or tan. haha.) Oh well.

Kourtney Kardashian Look For Less.

Kourtney Kardashian played off the perfect balance of femininity meets edginess with this uber cute outfit she wore to the Alice + Olivia Spring 2012 Fashion Show.

She paired a delicate A+O lace top cocktail dress with edgy accessories like gold plated belt and studded leather pumps. Even her questionable updo can't take away from these drool-worthy items (which call all run you a pretty penny--starting from her $400 dress, down to her $1000 Louboutins.)

Want to channel her outfit, but not spend her kind of cash? Try pairing a simple lace top with a bubble or pleated skirt, then pair it with some an unexpected gold metal belt and some fierce studded heels for your next cocktail hour or event!

Need options? Here's what I used.

Lace top-$70 (Top Shop)
Pleated Skirt-$26.94 (Old Navy)
Gold Belt-$52.38 (ASOS)
Studded Pumps-$42.50 (Charlotte Russe)
Envelope Clutch-$85.50 (Matt & Nat)

Set to hit stores Oct. 26, Giambattista Valli debut collection features mostly cocktail dresses with ruffles, leopard print, and metallic touches--perfect for the upcoming holiday season, don't you think?

Layer On The Fun! {Appaman's Fall 2011 Collection.}

Appaman never seems to disappoint, do they? Their Fall 2011 Collection is filled with stylish basics that are urban inspired and perfect for layering for the chilly months ahead.

Check out some of my fave picks for boys and girls.

Señorita Parker.

Um, how fabulicious does SJP look in this petal-embellished gown by Gucci?! I mean, really. She's showcasing the Spanish trend for fall in the latest issue of S Moda Magazine, and doing a mighty good job at it too.

The gown is from Gucci's Fall 2011 collection and makes for the perfect Spanish vibe when paired with the black netted hat.

So dramatic. I love it. ♥

Disney Couture: Minnie Mawi Collection.

British jewelry designers Mawi recently collaborated with Disney Couture and created one flippin' adorable collection filled with luxurious statement pieces featuring pearls, polka dot bow charms, and Swarovski crystals.

Trés chic, no?

All the pieces are inspired by Miss Minnie herself and retail from $75 to $250. The whole collection will be available in Disney Stores soon, but for now you can check ASOS for a few pieces.

What do you think? Would you wear them?

Jordana Brewster's Look For Less.

Jordana's look is definitely on trend for fall--from her polka dot sweater, right down to her lace-up booties. It's comfort-meets-style--making it ideal for any woman to wear, and the perfect example of how to put together a trendy outfit without going too over the top. Want to channel her outfit for a lot less cash? Try my look for less options--nothing is over $50!!

Target Wants To 'Wu' Us Next Feburary.

Guess, who the next Target collaborator is?  Yup,  Jason Wu. (How exciting!!) Wu has a very refined lady-like aesthetic, so I can't wait to see what his collection will look like. Even Michelle Obama has a soft spot for Wu and wore his design the night of the inauguration back in 2009, remember?

Well, unlike the vast Missoni for Target collection, Wu's Collection will only include apparel and accessories that will range from $19.99 to $59.99 for apparel and $19.99 to $49.99 for handbags.
“The exciting thing about this limited edition collection of affordable women’s wear and accessories is that it allows me to reach a wider audience and bring my designs to people who may not have been able to purchase them before. My collection for Target is chic and wearable. I think women everywhere will enjoy it.”

Christian Dior Brings Timeless Beauty To Spring/Summer 2012. {#PFW}

People were dying to see what the House of Dior would show at Paris Fashion Week after abruptly firing it's head designer John Galliano last March, then temporary replacing him with his former right-hand man, Bill Gaytten.

What Dior brought down the runway was a polished lady-like collection that embodied timeless beauty in every way. Cocktail dresses in chiffon, organza, and lace ruled the catwalk with a vintage 50's/60's silhouette that made for a very soft collection that was truly feminine.

Some people called it safe, I call it classic.
