Jason Statham: Get The Look & The Look For Less.

Jason Statham looves his Mykita sunglasses. He's been parading around town in all different shades and styles but recently he's been sticking to the Mykita "Rolf" model, which is a bit different than the typical aviator style in that the the bridge angles downward giving it a modern twist.

The "Rolf" which is handmade in Berlin will run you anywhere from $400-500. You can get it through Vizio Optic for $425

Want to look just as bad-ass as Statham, but don't want to spend that kind of money? Ray Ban's Model RB3025 will only set you back $139 and look similar.

For Your Little Piccasso's. {Kid's Art Portfolio's}

I was just having a conversation with the hubs about our daughter's artwork laying around the house. I don't know about you but we're those annoying people that keep everything our daughter makes and displays them proudly. I use to be good at scrapbooking and keeping everything organized, but now that she's in school, it's literally gotten OUT. OF. CONTROL.

Then I came across these Kid's Art Portfolio's and thought they would be perfect for my little Picasso! It keeps everything organized and some even have tabs to keep track of the year--I love that! Plus, they will all run you a little less than $20--Booyah!

Do you keep everything your kids make too?

For The Wonder Woman In All Of Us: {MAC + Wonder Woman}

BAM! POW! SHAZAM!

If you're a Wonder Woman fan, you MUST be jumping up and down in your underoos giddy over MAC's Wonder Woman collection coming out this spring! The official release date is set for February 10th, 2011 here in the US and Canada.

Here's what MAC had to say about the collection:
Criminally outdated colour and un-dimensional skin finishes are no match for M·A·C Wonder Woman’s daredevil feats. Featuring super-sized packaging like you’ve never seen before; bigger and better-than-ever Mineralize Skinfinish banishes chalky powders to a land far away, creating an other-worldly, multi-dimensional glow for all. Create powerful day-to-night looks with ultra-versatile Eye Shadow Quads and Pigments, plus Lipsticks and oversized Lipglasses that always speak the truth. Jumbo Powder Blush packs a punch to perk up dull complexions, and our intense, colour-saturated Opulash lends comic book-worthy colored pop to attention-starved peepers. Add Penultimate Eye Liner and Nail Lacquer to the mix to take women everywhere from mild mannered undercover operators to goddesses with supernatural abilities to charm, seduce and kick major sass. Great Hera! Looks like M·A·C and Wonder Woman have saved the day again.

I have to admit: some of this make-up is looking a little too irresistible to ignore! It must be WW's superhuman powers. :)

I will definitely be checking out this collection, how about you?

Duri's 2011 Valentine Collection

Duri Cosmetics is getting us ready for Valentine's Day by serving up some up yummy pinks and reds in their 2011 Valentine Collection. The collection consists of 4 nail colors perfect for every woman. Whether you like a sultry look or a soft feminine look. This collection has something for all of us.
  • Every Day Is Valentine is a fire-engine red.
  • Hot Date is a flirty fushia.
  • Contessa is a burgundy wine
  • Cupid Rules is a soft pink

Duri was kind enough to send me 2 colors to try out:

Cupid Rules
--a bubblegum pink. It's a soft/sweet shade so if you like a girly polish this one is definitely for you.

And Contessa--a shimmery Burgundy. It's a very pretty shade that will definitely dress up your manicure.

I really liked them both however they weren't as pigmented as I would have liked, therefore I had to put on a few coats to get the desired look. Other than that I thought they were great looking shades that will be a nice add to my collection.

A Spring In Your Step! {Lulu's Shoes}

Anyone else anxiously waiting for spring to arrive? The weather here in Florida is bipolar--one day we're in the 30's, the next we're in the 70's. I can't stand it. Make up you're mind already!! Ugh.(Actually it wouldn't be all that bad if we weren't getting sick every other week.)

The good news is that Spring is just on the horizon and Lulu's has some cute new shoes that will surely liven up our wardrobe for Spring! If you haven't checked out Lulu's yet, you're definitely missing out. I'm always amazed at how ridiculously affordable their merchandise is--especially they're shoes!

Beauty Tip Of The Day: The Eye Lash Curler.

If you're going out on the town, Raychel Wade, a make-up artist says--one simple step to remember is to always use an eyelash curler.
"Regardless of whether you’re going strong eye or impact lip, in order to dress up your look, it is necessary to always curl those lashes, It's such a simple step, but the effects are amazing. Three stern pumps of the curler, followed by two coats of mascara and all signs of the day’s wear and tear will be gone."

--Raychel Wade, NYC makeup artist, La Prairie Colour Ambassador, Founder of Cheek to Chic.

I've talked about "The Power of the Eye Lash Curler" before, remember? No matter if I'm going somewhere fancy or not, I always work in the eye lash curler in my beauty routine.

How about you, do you use an eyelash curler?

Reusable Bags: Not So Safe After All.

Listen up moms!

The Center for Consumer Freedom released new information stating that "56% of Americans are not at all aware that their reusable grocery bags may contain lead and bacteria." --Oh my goodness, I'm part of that percentage because I had NO IDEA!! Did you?!

The Washington Post also published a feature stating research done both by the University of Arizona, and Loma Linda University showed "nearly every bag examined for bacteria was found to have whopping amounts of bugs. Coliform bacteria, suggesting raw-meat or uncooked-food contamination, was in half of the bags, and E. coli was found in 12 percent of the bags."

The good news is that simply washing them in the washer or by hand reduces the bacteria risk to almost nothing. Unfortunately a CCF poll shows that "68% of reusable bag owners have either never washed their bag or only washed it once in the last year."

But that's not all! The Center of Enviromental Health just released lab results showing "high levels of lead, in violation of California law, in Disney “Toy Story” and “Cars” reusable plastic shopping bags purchased from Safeway. Testing of the bags found more than 15 times the federal limit for lead in children’s products."

I don't know how something so toxic could be approved for our kids! You dropped the ball, Safeway. BIG TIME.

But they're not the only ones who dropped the ball. 16 of the 44 bags that were tested were found to have high levels of lead, including giants like CVS, Walgreens, and Staples. This is UNBELIEVABLE, and UNACCEPTABLE at this day and age, don't you think?

Go here to see the full list of retailers who were over the lead limit.

Does your family use reusable bags?
What do you think of this new research?

Lumberjack Chic.

Thought your man's old flannel shirt needed to be tossed out due to it's hideosity? Try to embrace his love of ruggedness instead by encouraging him to wear it with a chic vest and a plain white shirt like Chris Pine. Instantly, updates his look! This way you're both happy. ;)

Banana Republic has some great flannel shirts if you're on the market. (They're on sale too!!)

5 Essentials For The Mom On-The-Go.

I think they're few must-have items that every mom should lug around with her at all times, just to make our chaotic lives a little bit easier. Here are my top 5 life-savers.

The Mom Bag:
Who has time to switch out bags? Invest in one great tote large enough to carry around all our daily junk--like this DKNY slouchy tote. With such a fabulous bag no one will ever guess it's filled with kid's toys!

Hand Sanitizer:
Little fingers love sticky things, so you always have to be prepared. I always have hand sanitizer on hand just in case my daughter decides she must touch that germ filled surface I told her a thousand times not to touch. Bath and Body Pocketbacs are my fav because they smell utterly delicious.

Over-Sized Glasses:
Our morning routines can be brutal. Sometimes we can barely get dressed, much less put on make-up before we hit the road and drop off the kiddies. So instead I put on a pair of over-sized glasses and call it a day. (It's better than pretending you didn't hear the other mom's calling your name because you're trying to rush to your car so no one sees you without make-up.) Don't lie. We've all been there. Try these great shades from Bebe.

Light-Weight Scarf:
If you're accident prone like me, you'll appreciate this. Carry a light-weight scarf with you to hide those food stains you've acquired throughout the day, or to simply jazz up a plain outfit. Choose something neutral that can go with everything and can be worn year round. These American Apparel jersey scarves are so budget friendly, you can afford to buy them in every color!

Lip Balm:
A lip balm is a necessity in my house. I hardly ever use lipstick, unless I'm going somewhere special. My daughter also suffers from chapped lips, so I carry something we both can use. This Rosebud lip balm has a barely there tint and moisturizes lips immediately so it's the perfect combination for the both of us.

What are some of your favorite "must-have" items?

Olivia Munn's Look: Yay or Nay?

Olivia Munn hit the town last week in this navy cocktail dress cinched at the waist with a thick trendy belt. Then finished her look by pairing opaque tights with some stylish open toe booties.

What do you think ladies?

Personally, I think she's ROCKIN' IT! I love the combination of a sweet chiffon dress paired with a sturdier belt, don't you? The whole look--including the minimal jewelry and the soft make-up, works for me. It's a YAY for me!

Essie 'French Affair' Spring 2011 Collection

Oh la la. Have you ladies seen Essie's promo pics for their Spring 2011 collection? Essie is one of my all time favorite nail brands. They always have the best shades. Nothing to wild or crazy, just wearable everyday polishes for busy moms like us.

This flirty collection is entitled 'French Affair', and is inspired by 1960's glamour. Essie Weingarten (founder of the brand) believes "every woman has a little Brigitte Bardot in her, and this palette coaxes her out"--I bet my hubby would like that! haha.

'French Affair' launches in February, but I've heard some rumors that a few colors have trickled down to Wal-mart already! I think I might have to make a trip and see for myself...

Are you an Essie fan?
What do you think of their new collection?

Trenta WHA?!?

I'm sure you've heard by now that Starbucks is unveiling it's new size TRENTA by May 3rd. Even if you're not a devoted coffee drinker like myself, the 31 oz size has definitely caught national attention. In fact the National Post has released this illustration to show the size of the new Trenta compared to an adult stomach.

Look, I like my coffee as much as the next gal, in fact you might even call me a coffee fein, starbucks addict, coffee lover, but is there really a need for this much coffee? I always tend to stick with a tall drink and that's plenty enough for me. My husband did point out however that a 31oz size is often the size people opt for at fast food restaurants and at 7 elevens with their"Big Gulps". It just seems like such a bigger concern with coffee, don't you think?

What do you think of the new Trenta size?
Share you thoughts with me!
