CoverGirl Nature Luxe Collection Review & Swatches.

Listen up girlies! CoverGirl has a new collection--have you seen it? It's called the NatureLuxe Collection. It's a higher end product with a more luxurious formula found right in your local drugstore! NatureLuxe is "luxury touched by nature" and although the collection it's not 100% organic it does exchange heavy synthetics for more natural ingredients such as cucumber water, jojoba, and rosehip extracts.

I had the opportunity to try out their liquid silk foundation in 350 Oak and gloss balm in 240 Muscat, and I gotta be honest--I was curious to see how this collection would hold up because, although the idea of green friendly products always seem great--most of them just turn out to be really crappy. This collection however is the exception and here's why....

The Foundation:

The liquid foundation is extremely silky smooth. You will definitely feel the difference when you put it on--it feels almost like a serum instead. Although it feels very lightweight, it provides a decent amount of coverage.

I'm a full-coverage kinda gal. I need my foundation to cover all my imperfections and blemishes for me to feel good, and this foundation covered everything without it feeling too cakey or heavy. I think this foundation would be perfect on those days when you don't want to seem like you have a ton of make-up on, but still don't want to feel naked either.

(Btw, I know the foundation seems a little dark for me, but keep in mind this is the bottom of my forearm which is a few shades lighter than my arms and face.)

The Lip Balm:

I'm not gonna lie--I was a little freaked out when I saw the color of the lip balm. Me and red--just don't mix, and the color just seemed a little too bright for my liking. But, I tried it anyway and.....loooooooooved it!!!

I was so excited to find a darker shade that didn't scream: "hooker" on me. The muscat color is more like a strawberry/muave then a bright red, and goes really well with my light/medium skin tone. In fact, I put this on when I dropped off my daughter at school this morning. (Definitely something I wouldn't do if it was just a "night-time" look.) It's light enough to wear in the day, but still provide you with enough color to make your lips pop.

Keep in mind this is a "balm" and not a lipstick--so if you like your lips to feel super moisturized you might want to put a topcoat of gloss on it. Also, like the foundation, it's very lightweight and sheer, and will require a few coats if you want a more intense look. By the way, did I mention it contains a blend of mango, shea butter, and other natural butters? Yup. Pure awesomeness.

Final Thoughts:

Overall, I was really impressed with the NatureLuxe products. More than I thought I was going to be actually. They really lived up to they're hype in my eyes and I would definitely consider buying other products from their collection.

Overall Rating: 4 out of 5
Price: $11.99 (foundation) $6.49 (lip balm)
Recommend? Yes.
