Who doesn't remember the slip and slide as a kid?! Well the slip and slide as we know it is long gone. Now they're full of gadgets, contraptions and sprinklers...as a matter of fact looking at some of these new toys makes me feel like a fossil! lol Where were these things when WE were a kid?!?

Check out some of these cool new water slides from ToysRUs. Perfect for your kids..or for the kid at heart. :)

What are you planning on buying your kids this summer?

Kid Strong Review and Giveaway!-CLOSED

Do you have an active child like mine? Then listen up, you'll love this.

KID Strong is an ALL natural hydration beverage for kids! It's a first of it's kind drink that's formulated for kids to have a healthy, active, and productive lifestyle.

How? Unlike any other sports drinks on the market, KID Strong contains no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives and is low in sugar. PLUS it has 22 vitamins and minerals! How awesome is that?!

I know as mothers we always try to give our kids the best and always strive to give them the right foods and drinks. Yes, It's hard. Especially at a time when sodas are being sipped down by the liter like if it was water. That's why I jumped at the chance for my daughter to try Kid Strong. Although I was a bit nervous because she's like any other kid and can be very picky.

So I was pleasantly surprised when she actually liked it! Can you believe it?! Miss Picky herself actually liked it! I don't care what companies promise, they can state their drinks have magical superhero powers--if it doesn't taste good, it's not gonna happen. Kids will not drink it.

Luckily KID Strong comes in 2 yummy flavors: Natural Orange, and Natural Grape. My daughter really enjoyed the grape which makes me happy because it's designed for active growing children between the ages of 4-13 and it's composed of 3 significant components:
  • A low glycemic index carbohydrate blend
  • A nutrient blend containing 22 vitamins and minerals
  • A unique electrolyte combination

Overall I think this is an EXCELLENT drink to give your kids especially during these summer months when keeping them hydrated after playing outside is SO important.

Overall Rating: 4.5 out 5
Price for Case (12pk): $25 (Special Price $19.49)

Thomas Jane Sneakers. Yay or Nay

Ok, this is just plain w-e-i-r-d. If my husband came home with these sneakers I would flat out ask for a divorce. Well maybe not a divorce but I would ask if he had lost his mind.

These are the Vibram Five Fingers KSO sneakers ($85) and apparently they're catching on in Hollywood because they've been seen on several male celebrities, including Thomas Jane pictured above.

I don't care WHO they're on--I still would hate them. It's a NAY for me.

What do you think? Do you think they're cool or not?

Reese Witherspoon's Look for Less

It's been a minute since I've done a Reese look. (Mostly because I haven't been able to find any new pics of her). I absolutely love her style and she never disappoints when it comes to putting together a simple chic outfit.

Like this easy breezy summer look she's wearing? Here's my look for less:

Sheer Embroidered Blouse: $27.80 (Forever21)
Cuffed Shorts: $19.50 (Old Navy)
Handbag: $36 (Roxy)
Thong Sandals: $14.99 (Candie's)
Sunglasses: $5.80 (Forever 21)

Neutrogena UltraSheer Liquid Sunblock Review

I was given the opportunity to try out Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock for the past few weeks and so far...I love it! Want to know why?

1. The applicator tip. Perfect for no mess application. It lets you squeeze out just the right amount needed and not a whole palm full.

2. When they mean sheer, they-mean-sheer. It goes on practically invisible and lasts all day. No runny streaks here, even in this Florida heat!

3. It's non-greasy and absorbs very quickly which means it doesn't leave my skin looking shiny and doesn't affect my make-up.

4. Full coverage. SPF 70 Helioplex broad spectrum protection. 'Nuff Said.

5. Size is just right. It fits perfectly in my make-up bag which reminds me to put on sunscreen.

The only complaint I have is that it is a bit pricey at $12 for a 1.4OZ (ouch) which can affect future purchases.

Overall, I'm very impressed with this new sunblock and would absolutely recommend it if your in the market for a facial sunblock.

Overall Rating: 4.8 out of 5
Price: $12

Sunburn Soothing Lotion For The Summer.

We've all been there, right? The red hot scorched skin that hurts so much you can't move. We know better but we act like complete morons and somehow let it slip our mind to put on enough SPF.

Lucky for you I found a do-it-yourself sunburn soothing lotion on TotalBeauty.com and will share it with you--just because I like you. :)

Ingredients:
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon witch hazel
1/4 cup baking soda
1-2 drops of peppermint oil

Directions: Mix together all ingredients in a container with a lid to form a thick, milky solution. Shake well before applying. To use: Gently apply to your sunburned skin and allow to dry. Reapply if necessary. You may also want to rinse your skin after the lotion absorbs and works its magic because it leaves film as it dries (you know, in case you decide to venture out -- tan lines and all).

You got it? Alright, now go have some summer fun.. and wear your sunscreen this time!

Alicia Keys Look. Yay or Nay?

You've probably already seen these pics of Alicia Keys performing on Good Morning America. They're all over the internet because you can clearly see her baby bump now! :)

So, what do you think of her outfit? I like rompers but I know a lot of people don't. Where do you fall?

I think she looks absolutely adorable pregnant! She has that gorgeous glow that women get when they're pregnant (you know, before we start feeling like a beached whale) but I wish she would have unrolled the bottom of her shorts. You see that they button up with a strap? Yeah, I wish she would have let them down. I love the top but I'm not sold on the bottom. I have mixed feeling so it's neither a yay or nay for me.

Ke$ha vs. JLO-- The Diva Showdown.

Singer Ke$ha showed up in this getup at the Much Music Video Awards last week. Lovely, right? :)

But wait, is it just me or is it a little reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez's outfit in the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards?

What do you think, 2 different outfits or smells like a copycat?

Salma Hayek Look. Yay or Nay?

Va-Va-Voom! Salma wore this outfit to a David Letterman taping yesterday. What do you think? Do you like it?

I think Salma just gets better with age, doesn't she? She looks absolutely beautiful and I think this outfit is the perfect example of being classy, dressing age appropriately and still being sexy. Salma is in her mid-40's but she would trump any youngster in sex appeal in this little number. It's a BIG Yay for me!

Love it? Hate it? Let me know!

Toy Stoy 3 Barbie

This weekend we took our daughter to see Toy Story 3 and we all LOVED it! What a cute movie! It really is a must see so make sure you take your little munchkins to see it.

My house was already on Toy Story 3 overkill before the movie came out. My daughter becomes OBSESSED whenever a new movie comes out, and what do we do? We feed into it by buying her things from the movie--yeah, yeah, I know..sue us.

The only thing is that my daughter is a girly girl and Toy Story 3 has primarily boys toys so what did we find?

Mattel has these cute Toy Story 3 Barbies that are perfect for little fashionistas like mine. We got ours at Target but I'm sure they're available at other stores as well.

The Fashion Dolls come with 3 different Toy Story character outfits and they include a backpack clip with the character. They retail for $15.99

The Ken and Barbie Set come straight out of the movie and it retails for $24.99

Go to www.target.com to see these and all other Toy Story 3 toys.

Did you take your kids to see the movie this weekend?

Happy Father's Day.

Happy Father's Day to all you Daddy's out there! ESPECIALLY to my husband who hands down I think deserves a "Father of the Year" award not just this year but every year.

If you know Jay personally than you know what a great guy he is AND what an amazing father he's been since day one. My daughter is such a daddy's girl and has him so wrapped around her little finger it's almost sickening, but Jason wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I know how important it is for him to be a good father and Baby I just want to let you know that not only are you a good father..your the BEST father we could ever ask for.

Happy Father's Day. I love you.

Isabel Lucas Look. Yay or Nay?

Australian actress Isabel Lucas wore this bohemian chic outfit during a day out with her dad. My question is...is it a Yay or Nay?

Although I could never see myself wearing this feminine/bohemian look, I think she pulls it off and I give her kudos for doing something different. It's a yay for me.

What do you think? Do you like or hate it. Let me know!

A Dinosaur Adventure And A Trip Down The Bayou.

Last night we visited T-Rex Cafe. For those of you who are not from the area, it's a themed restaurant that opened up a couple months back in Downtown Disney. We've passed by it several times but this time we decided to eat there instead. We had such a great time. What an ah-mazing experience for kids and adults.

Even though we had a 45 minute wait it really flew by because there is so much to see inside the restaurant. From animatronic creatures hanging from the ceiling to a live aquarium, to a gift shop and Build-A-Dinosaur (which is Build-A-Bear except all dinosaur themed). Arianna got to pick herself a dinosaur that she named "Harry" and the two of them were inseparable for the rest of the night.
Once we got seated, we got to enjoy the "meteor showers" every 20 minutes which is when the whole restaurant comes alive with dinosaur roars and the lights dim and change colors--yeah, really cool. One thing this restaurant is, is LOUD so don't go there expecting you'll get a nice romantic dinner or that you'll even be able to hear the person across from you. LOL

The food was surprisingly delicious. We've been to Rainforest Cafe several times, in fact we had Arianna's first B-Day party at the Rainforest, and we all know that we go there just for a nice experience not necessarily for the food--but T-Rex was completely different. Everything we ordered was fantastic! I had their rotisserie chicken with vegetables and hubby ordered their Boneyard Plate which was a mix of chicken and ribs, but that's not all. After our main entrees we enjoyed their Chocolate Extinction which is a MASSIVE dessert of chocolate cake and ice cream. It was heaven, but I think we over did ourselves..we didn't make a dent on this thing. LOL

T-Rex is a bit expensive so do expect to pay a pretty penny when you go but you'll leave wanting to unbutton a button or two so at least you'll leave satisfied. :)

After we rolled out of T-Rex we decided to be adventurous and go on a riverboat. (I swear, we've lived here for several years and never knew about these darn boats!). We THOUGHT we were going to a Boardwalk but ended up going downstream through a heavy swap area which had Jason and I glancing at each other laughing thinking "where the hell are we going?? BUT we were down for the adventure--that's how we roll.

Finally the boat stopped and dropped us off in the middle of New Orleans! (Or what seemed to be New Orleans anyway). It was a cute little resort with a very southern charm theme. It had a small square with shops and live bayou music. Of course the specialty shops had a lots of Princess and the Frog stuff so my daughter was losing her mind in there. She even had a chance to have a little late night fun in the play ground before we had to make our way back to the riverboat to take us back to where we came from.

We got home L-A-T-E and exhausted but we all fell asleep with smiles on our faces...
