Story Time...

Wednesday's and Thursday's my day is pretty much packed taking Arianna to different community events around the area. I'm lucky enough where we live in a town that really focuses on family and kids. We have several big parks, baseball fields, community centers right around the block and on Wednesday mornings it's Story Time!

Our Wednesday morning story time is at a local library that was the first school house in the area in the early 1800's! Later it was converted into a private home and then again donated back to the community and made into a library. It has a very southern charm with a screened in porch, benches and rocking chairs. I can't tell enough how much Arianna loves going there. The storyteller is such a lovely animated woman she keeps all the kids entertained and keeps the kids (and parents) wanting more. :)

Today was so pretty outside they had some tea (juices) and some yummy snacks out on the porch.

To Romper or Not to Romper....

You can't turn a page of a magazine without seeing a romper being worn. They come in all shapes, sizes, colors, fabric anything your little heart can desire..but that's the question? Do you really desire them? I know some people that think that rompers shouldn't be worn unless you require diapers (babies, not seniors-ew.)

I like them but I don't think they're made for every body type. How about you? Would you rock a romper?

Attention Parents: DVD Release

Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel is being released today March 30th. I can't tell you how much Arianna LOOOVED this movie and how she's been not so patiently waiting for it's release (by not so patiently I mean asking me every freakin' week if I could get it for her!!). Well today she's gonna get her wish because hubby is getting it on his way home from work. Can't wait to see the look on her face!

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel eyeliner

Ok, so I have a confession to make..I'm addicted to eyeliners-there, I said it! I have an embarrassing amount of them and I can't get enough. All types, sizes, colors, brands I don't discriminate. So you can imagine my excitement when I recently purchased the Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting gel eyeliner in blackest black.

First of all, good gel eyeliners are not found in drugstore brands. It's usually only a "higher-end" find. L'oreal Hip I believe is the only other brand that has a gel liner. (Not impressive-too thick) Plus it promises 24hr wear, smudge proof, and waterproof. Really?

Well, I gotta say that I was VERY impressed! It's got the perfect consistency. Not to thick not to watery. I wore it for about 8 hours with no smudging the only drawback that I see is the brush. some people might find it hard to use and would probably have better luck with an angled brush.

Overall I think it works great! Great price, great look so I would recommend it. I would give it a 4 out of 5 (just because of the brush)

Hygenie

I wish they would have had this available when Arianna was a baby! Hygenie is a portable, natural, safe sanitizer that can go with you anywhere! It's small enough to carry in your purse, diaper bag, or backpack and it kills up to 99% of germs. How frustrating is it when your baby throws his/her pacifier or bottle on the floor and all you could do is cry louder than your baby or pack 100 pacifiers in your bag "just in case". Movie Night

It was a hot rainy mess here in Orlando this weekend so it was the perfect excuse to have a movie night with my daughter and hubby. UGH. Since when does going to the theaters cost the same as having a 3 course meal?? I don't get it. It's popcorn people-POPCORN!

Anyway, we went to see How to train your Dragon. I didn't see the 3-D version because trying to have a 4 year old keep on those glasses is like trying to pull teeth. (I don't know WHY every kids movie is coming out 3-D now, but it was still enjoyable either way). My daughter did get scarred a few times and she's really not much of a scaredy cat so I would suggest kids 3 and older see it. She still seemed to really enjoy it though. I think maybe boys might like this a tad bit more. I'm not going to go as far as saying it was one of my favorite kids films but I do think it's worth taking your kids to watch.

Avon's Astonishing Lengths Mascara

I have to admit that I'm not the biggest Avon fan. I know Avon has a cult following but their make-up just hadn't convinced me but I decided to try out the new Astonishing Lengths Mascara anyway.

I have very short straight lashes so I'm constantly in the search for THE PERFECT mascara. I have yet to find one, and unfortunately this mascara is no where near it. It barely made a difference even after I put coats and coats of it on. (Although I will say it didn't clump on me even with globs of it on, which I guess is one positive thing) But this is definitely not a one coat and you're done mascara unless you have thick super long lashes-in which case, I hate you. :) I also disliked the wand immensely. It was very stiff and at times hurt my lashes.

I say pass on this one ladies....

Has anyone else seen this show? Hubby and I are glued to the TV every Friday to watch this. They have a handful of celebrities that trace back their ancestry going through archives and back to actual locations where their family members were born or passed away. 

It really is fascinating. I know that I would jump at the opportunity to be able do something like this. Next week will be Brooke Shields and it looks like she has French nobility in her blood..can't wait!

J'adore Kohls

Can I just say how much I LOVE Kohl's? If you would have asked me 3 years ago what I thought of this store I probably would have told you Kohl's who?? What's that? NOW-I'm obsessed. I can't get enough. They have AH-Mazing deals along with great designers. I recently purchased my daughter's Easter dress and a Vera Wang pajama set which would have come out close to $100 (with tax). After the store discounts and a coupon that came in the mail the total came out to $15!!! Can you believe that?!? $15, I died. I'm telling you Kohl's is a great thing if you haven't gone there before or haven't gone in a while-GO. You'll love it.
